Why should I
invest in Swing-Tempo and how will it help improve my game?
The great Bobby Jones once wrote that we talk about good timing,
faulty timing, and the importance of timing, and yet no one has been
able to say what timing is.
Teaching professionals have always stressed the importance of tempo
in their lessons. Tour Professional have credited great tempo for
their best rounds. But there has never been device available to date
that has been able to properly teach proper swing tempo…that
is until now.
Swing-Tempo is the only tempo-trainer that delivers one repeatable
swing every time you swing the club. It’s been specifically
designed to find, retain, and ingrain one’s ideal tempo. You
now have an accurate reference to learning your ideal tempo, rhythm,
and timing.
In a short time using Swing-Tempo, you will develop the mental confidence
to keep your swing mechanics in sequence while achieving a golfers
biggest desire: consistency.
GP Golf offers a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. If for some reason
you’re not completely satisfied with Swing-Tempo, return Swing-Tempo
within 30 days from the purchase date for a full refund.
What’s
the difference between Swing-Tempo and a metronome?
Unlike a metronome, Swing-Tempo was specifically designed to find,
retain, and ingrain a golfer’s ideal golf tempo. Swing-Tempo
is fully adjustable allowing you to concentrate on specific parts
of your golf swing.
For example, if you have a quick transition, use Swing-Tempo to
lengthen the pause time between your backswing (BS) and downswing
(DS) to get you “locked and loaded” for impact.
Another example, if you’d like to focus on impact, use Swing-Tempo
to shorten the downswing signal duration for impact only. You’re
given an exact numerical reference to impact every time you swing
the club.
Unlike a metronome, Swing-Tempo also offers 3 proven learning methods
to help you ingrain your ideal tempo. Knowing that everyone learns
differently, you have the ability to see, hear, or feel your ideal
tempo at home, in the office, in the car, at the practice range,
or even on the course.

How does Swing-Tempo
eliminate tension?
For mid to low handicappers, tension or over-thinking is
the often cause to most mis-hits. Tension is what usually leads to
a quicker swing, throwing a player’s swing mechanics out of
sequence resulting in unreliable ball contact and inaccuracy.
By swinging along with Swing-Tempo signals, you’ll learn to
trust in swing mechanics and simply swing the club when you play.
Hint: If you experiencing tension during your round,
take practice swings with a slower tempo setting. For example, if
you tempo setting is set to 05 04 06, change to a slower tempo setting
of 06 04 07. This will consciously force you to swing slower without
compromising your rhythm and timing.
How can something
so simple be so effective?
Swing-Tempo effectiveness stems from its teaching method.
Because the timed signals are independent from your golf swing, you’ll
know that you’re swinging with the same consistent tempo every
time you swing the club with Swing-Tempo.
Will Swing-Tempo
improve my short game?
Swing-Tempo is especially effective for your short game.
You will see immediate results with your putting and chipping.
For putting, Swing-Tempo will teach you to “stroke through
the ball” while eliminating any tendency to “hit at the
ball”. With the ability to time the duration of your follow-through
and finish, Swing-Tempo develops acceleration through impact and
reliable distance control around the greens.
For chipping, Swing-Tempo will eliminate “chunking” and
the tendency to “stab” at the ball. Swing-Tempo lets
the weight of the clubhead do the work, helping you develop a smooth
and rhythmic chipping stroke.

How can Swing-Tempo
help me regroup after a terrible hole?
It’s inevitable that you’ll have bad holes that
you’d like to forget about. The important thing is to recover
from those bad holes so they don’t ruin your entire round.
Use the Swing-Tempo on the next tee to help you refocus and get you
back into your groove. Take a few practice swings with Swing-Temp
to release tension and anxiety from the previous hole. Swing-Tempo
will get you back into swinging smoothly and consistently… to
finish strong.
What is the
best way to practice with Swing-Tempo?
Whether chipping in your backyard, putting in your home
or office, or using in your car before a round, Swing-Tempo can be
used anytime, anywhere. Compact and discreet, people won’t
even know you’re wearing it.
Do I use the
same tempo setting for every club?
Yes. Maintain one consistent tempo from driver to putter. Independent
research shows that most tour professionals maintain one consistent
tempo throughout the bag. One constant tempo ensures repetition and
consistency in your golf swing.
When do I start
my backswing?
Your backswing begins at the start of the second signal.
Hint: For a smoother takeaway, GP Golf recommends
starting your backswing in between the first (ready/address) signal
and the second (backswing) signal.
Hint: GP Golf recommends implementing a forward
press during the ready/address signal, however, its important for
you backswing match the duration of backswing signal from start to
finish.
How do I change
the TS setting?
To change the TS setting, simply hold down the TS button
located on the left hand side of the Swing-Tempo. After you’ve
held the TS button for approximately 2 seconds, the TS setting on
the LCD screen will start blinking. While the TS setting is blinking,
use any of the up and down arrows to either shorten or lengthen the
top swing or pause time between the backswing and downswing signal.
The Swing-Tempo will automatically reset in the new tempo setting.

How do I speed
up the overall pace of my swing?
Rather than adjusting the BS and DS settings to speed up the overall
pace of your swing, we suggest shortening the TS setting. Changing
the BS and DS setting will cause your body to strain making it difficult
for your swing mechanics to stay in sequence. By shortening the transition
time between your backswing and downswing, you’ll speed up
the overall pace of your golf swing.
What are the
3 preferred tempo settings?
After years of testing and research, GP Golf engineers found that
many Tour professionals had clearly defined swing tempos. By breaking
down the golf swing into three measurable components, our engineers
developed tempo combinations that would achieve maximum distance
and accuracy for slow, average, and fast swingers. Based on your
own swing temperament, we recommend you start with one of these tempo
combinations as a guide. If you like one of the preferred tempo settings,
program it into your Swing-Tempo. If you feel your own tempo is slightly
different, simply adjust the Swing-Tempo to your preference. Remember,
Swing-Tempo is fully adjustable! It is important to use a tempo combination
that is most comfortable for you.
How do I find
my ideal tempo?
Tempo usually matches temperament. To find your ideal tempo, simply
look at the way you walk or talk. If you are a fast walker, your
tempo will normally be faster than someone who is a slow walker.
Do not force yourself to use a slow tempo setting. Naturally fast
swingers who try to use a slow tempo often throw their whole game
off. Likewise, slow swingers should not force themselves to use a
faster tempo.
Based on your temperament, set Swing-Tempo in one of the 3 preferred
tempo settings listed below. The preferred tempo settings should
act as guideline to finding and retaining your ideal tempo. If you
feel you tempo is different from one of the preferred temp settings,
simply adjust your Swing-Tempo to match your preferred tempo.
| Preferred Tempo Settings: |
| Slower Swing: |
06 04 07 = 1.7 seconds |
| Average Swinger: |
05 04 06 = 1.5 seconds
05 03 06 = 1.4 seconds (Quicker Transition) |
| Faster Swinger: |
04 03 05 = 1.2 seconds |
